The Federal Solar Tax Credit is provided for home solar systems installed by December 31, 2020. It allows you to deduct 26% of the cost of installing a solar energy system from your federal taxes.
Illinois Solar for All serves low-income households and communities across the state by funding new solar generation systems. They benefit qualifying households, renters, non-profits, and public facilities.
Illinois Shines, the brand name of the Adjustable Block Program, gives you one Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) for each megawatt hour (MWh) of electricity your solar system produces. You can then sell the credit in the market.
If you are a customer of ComEd, one of Illinois’ largest utility companies, and you install solar on your business, you are eligible for $250 per kilowatt (kW) of installed solar power through their Distributed Generation Rebate program. Your solar panel system can’t be bigger than 2,000 kW in capacity to get the rebate.
